چکیده
We investigate the kinematics of molecular gas in a sample seven edge-on (i>60{\deg}) galaxies identified as hosting large-scale outflows ionised gas, using ALMA CO(1-0) observations at ~ 1kpc resolution. build on Hogarth et al. (2021; H21), where we find that is more centrally concentrated which host winds than control objects. perform full 3-dimensional kinematic modelling with multiple combinations components, allowing us to infer whether these objects share any similarities their structure. use pinpoint centre each galaxy, order interpret minor- and major-axis position velocity diagrams (PVDs). From PVDs, bulk our dynamically cold, tracing rotation curves predicted by symmetric, rotation-dominated models, but minor flux asymmetries. Most notably, evidence radial motion subset objects, demonstrate characteristic "twisting" minor-axis PVDs generally associated flow along plane galaxy. In highest S/N object, include bi-symmetric model, (via Bayesian Information Criterion) presence strongly favoured. This may provide one mechanism star formation are concentrated, enabling launch massive winds. However, remainder sample, do not observe being driven radially, once again emphasising variety physical processes be powering originally noted H21.

Lyα Driven Outflows Around Star Forming Galaxies
We present accurate Monte-Carlo calculations of Lyα radiation pressure in a range of models which represent galaxies during various epochs of our Universe. We show that the radiation force that Lyα photons exert on hydrogen gas in the neutral intergalactic medium (IGM), that surrounds minihalos that host the first stars, may exceed gravity by orders of magnitude and drive supersonic winds. Lyα ...
متن کاملThe Kiloparsec-scale Kinematics of High-redshift Star-forming Galaxies
We present the results of a spectroscopic survey of the kinematic structure of star-forming galaxies at redshift z ∼ 2 − 3 using Keck/OSIRIS integral field spectroscopy. Our sample is comprised of 12 galaxies between redshifts z ∼ 2.0 and 2.5 and one galaxy at z ∼ 3.3 which are well detected in either Hα or [O iii] emission. These galaxies are generally representative of the mean stellar mass o...
متن کاملThe Star-Forming Molecular Gas in High-Redshift Submillimetre Galaxies
We present a model for the CO molecular line emission from high-redshift Submillimetre Galaxies (SMGs). By combining hydrodynamic simulations of gas-rich galaxy mergers with the polychromatic radiative transfer code, SUNRISE, and the 3D non-LTE molecular line radiative transfer code, TURTLEBEACH, we show that if SMGs are typically a transient phase of major mergers, then their observed compact ...

متن کاملStar-forming Dwarf Galaxies: Ariadne’s Thread in the Cosmic Labyrinth Star Formation in Hii Galaxies. Properties of the ionized gas
We present two set of high signal-to-noise spectrophotometric observations of three and seven compact and luminous Hii galaxies observed with the WHT and the 3.5 m telescope at CAHA, respectively. All the observations have been made with the use of a double-arm spectrograph which provides spectra with a wide wavelength coverage, from 3200 to 10500 Åfor the WHT data and 3400 to 10400 Åfor the CA...
